Fix My Council Tax is run by a sole trader in England. This page explains what happens to your information when you use fixmycounciltax.co.uk.

What you type into the app stays on your device

Your address, band, bill, house price and your neighbours' details are saved only in your own browser's storage so the app remembers them, along with a note that you've paid so it stays unlocked. They're never sent to us, and we don't store them.

If you use Restore access, the email address you enter is sent through our site to Stripe to find your payment. We don't keep it.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your email address and card details to take the payment and send your receipt. We can see your email address, the amount and the date in our Stripe account, but never your full card details. Stripe's use of your information is covered by the Stripe privacy policy.

Our website

The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when a page loads. We don't use advertising trackers or cookies on this site. If that ever changes, we'll update this page and ask for your consent first.

How long we keep it

Payment records are kept for 6 years because UK tax law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows. Email hello@fixmycounciltax.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
